Park / Area History: The local Lions Club in Naicam along with the town clerk of the Town of Naicam began working toward developing the island of Lake Charron so the surrounding residents would have a swimming, fishing, picnic and camping area. Letters began transmission as early as 1967 between the town clerk and the Department of Natural Resources. In December 1967 Mr. Wm. S. Fosterson surrendered the lease of land back to the Department of Natural Resources which was then leased to the Town of Naicam in 1968, where the Local Lions Club would prepare the island to be used as Lake Charron. The island saw many changes: a causeway was built to the island, power installed, beach developed, change houses erected, cook house built, ball diamonds cleared, camping area, boat ramp and play area. Then on September 18, 1972 Lake Charron became a Regional Park.
Barrier Free Access: Lake Charron Regional Park is wheelchair accessible including: pavilion, shower house/washrooms(currently under renovations).
