Community Museum Technician

Hours of Work: approx. 40/week

Type: Summer/Seasonal, Full Time – GRANT PENDING

Rate of Pay: As per approved Human Resources Policy (as of March 2020 Starting Wage is $13-$15/hr)

Duty Summary: Overall care and programming of the Naicam Museum & Gallery including spring and fall cleaning, general housekeeping, museum and park grounds-keeping, educational/cultural activities with a focus on seniors and children’s programming, making reports, maintaining, cataloging and storing of artifacts/archives, create and update social media pages, engage the community and tourism visitors, other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Strong computer literacy and organizational skills, an ability to communicate well with people of all ages, and the general public, and an ability to work independently required. Preference to post-secondary students, but anyone age 15-30 may apply.

Requirements: Resume with references required. Include previous job experience, valid driver’s license required. Drivers abstract and criminal record check required before first day of work. If you are a student, list school/program returning to in 2020/2021. Ability to work evenings & weekends required.

This position is pending that the Town is successful in their application for a Federal Canada Summer Jobs grant or Provincial Community Infrastructure Fund (CIF) grant.
